In today’s busy world stress is becoming more recognised, stress related illness is the major cause of doctor visits today. Everyone suffers from stress at some point, this can be good stress, motivation, challenges, etc.
As a positive influence, stress can help you to stay focused and alert. But as a negative influence, it can become negative to your emotional and physical well-being.
Stress can cause many feelings such as anger and depression, which in turn can lead to health problems such as headaches, skin conditions, insomnia, high blood pressure and heart disease.
Therefore depending on our reactions to certain circumstances, stress will either help or hinder us. Long term, chronic stress is truly emotionally, psychologically and physically damaging and difficult to live with. When stress reaches this level it is called a ‘stress disorder’. Put things into perspective and restore balance.
